Salt and baking

I used to be afraid to add salt to my baking, thinking it would add an unsavoury salty flavour to a sweet dish. I would add a small pinch just to say I added it. I then learned that salt in baking is used as a contrast and brings out the sweet flavours from the sugar, vanilla, chocolate, etc.
